We are always to live a godly life before other people. That is the message of the Bible, and particularly our belief in a holy God who expects us to live holy. And there's no substitute for consistent, faithful Christian living. For unbelievers to see a Christian living a godly life may bring them to a wrong conclusion. For example, the unbeliever may observe the Christian living with kindness, courtesy and respect. Their conclusion may be, “This person was brought up in a wonderful home. He is cultured and refined.”
Nothing in their conclusion points to God filling the Christian's life with grace.
The Gospel is not clear unless it is spoken. “Living the life” may cause the unbeliever to conclude that the Christian is simply a kind and caring person. Their conclusion says nothing about a saving relationship with Jesus Christ.
We must consider again Romans 10:14-15, “And how can they believe in the One of whom they have not heard?” This rhetorical question leads us to understand that people will not automatically know about Jesus unless we bring up His name, honor Him with our testimony, and invite others into a saving relationship with Him.
